Welcome to the October edition of Andale Tradesman. This issue includes lots of tips to maximize your sales during the holiday season, ways to improve the effectiveness of your Andale Gallery, and news about a terrific new free service for eBay buyers. We also have an update on recent changes to Andale tools and a preview of some upcoming features.

Andale Tools: What's New and What's Coming Soon

Over the past few months, we've added many new features to Andale tools, and more are on the way. For those of you who haven't been keeping score, here is a summary of a few key updates.

What's New: In August, we launched sales-boosting enhancements to Andale Lister. We added Best Offer capability to those categories on eBay where they are supported. Best Offer reduces the time spent on emails and increases the chance of a successful offer. With Andale's implementation, you can automatically decline offers, so the offers you do get are valid and can quickly lead to a sale. Another new feature is a "Skype Me," offering a quick (and free) way to communicate with last-minute buyers or to be available to answer questions, increasing the likelihood of a successful sale.

In September, we targeted listing appearance and introduced key updates to Andale's Lister Pro offline (desktop) listing tool. We added additional themes and the ability to have up to 50 images per listing. Buyers feel more comfortable buying from a seller whose ads are professional, and our themes provide a professional look so you can spend your time selling, not designing layouts.

Our September Lister Pro update added many additional features to our "offline" tool for high-volume sellers. A key addition is automated Second Chance Offer (also available in Andale Lister) that makes additional sales easier and faster. Lister Pro also received the above Best Offer enhancement, custom payment capability, and FedEx integration.

Coming Soon: In October, we're adding a coupon feature to Andale Checkout, allowing you to offer your buyers discount coupons good for future purchases. This will be a terrific incentive to encourage repeat purchases. We're also rolling out multiple eBay ID support that will allow sellers with more than one eBay account the ability to manage those accounts via a single Andale account.

Holiday Freeze: To ensure the highest performance and reliability during the holiday season, there will be no major software releases between mid-October and the end of the holiday selling season.

Gallery Guide: Getting Great Results

An Andale Gallery is the easiest way to cross-sell all your items to potential buyers. Try these ideas to maximize the return on your Galleries:
  1. Choose the right Gallery for your business
    • The Slide Show Gallery is a beautiful scrolling gallery (it moves on your page), designed for a seller who wants to bring attention to many one-of-a-kind items.

    • The Classic Andale Gallery provides many different design layouts. It is meant for sellers who wish to customize the "skin" of the Gallery to match their items.

    • The Traffic Booster Gallery uses our intelligent system that matches Gallery items to criteria you control, like category, price, time left in an auction, etc. Traffic Booster is designed for sellers whose items work well together, such as cameras and camera batteries.

  2. Personalize your Gallery
    • Update your Business Information and About Us page. Providing details about your business increases buyer confidence.

  3. Market your great items
    • Add your Gallery to your emails, your Website, your blog. Where social networking takes you, add your Gallery! A picture is still worth 1,000 words! If you have Andale Checkout, make sure you are sending the Gallery with your End of Auction settings.

  4. Check your settings
    • Are you displaying all the information that you want displayed? Sending all the emails? Spend a few minutes making sure your Gallery settings are what you need to work hardest for your business.

Holiday Selling Quick Tips
The Fall season accounts for the highest proportion of annual sales for many online sellers. During this busy time, it is easy to overlook a few simple techniques that can lead to more sales. Here are a few easy-to-implement suggestions:

Tip One: Use an Andale Gallery to cross-sell your items in every listing. (See below for Gallery tips.)

Tip Two: Create your own Andale Store for off-eBay selling. It's fast and easy to set up.

Tip Three: Do you have items that haven't sold that you want to sell over the holidays? Get a new picture, update your description, and save them in your Lister Ad Archive or in Lister Pro. Then re-launch them when eBay has a reduced-price listing day. Be ready to take advantage of any listing sale days over the holidays!

Tip Four: Take stock of your stock. One Andale seller saves his unsold items all year long and does a massive blow-out sale the last week of December. This sale nets him more than all the business he does in the rest of the year!
