Andale Appoints Phil Steffora to Vice President Technical Operations

18-Year Seasoned IT Executive Joins Leading eBay Tools Provider

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, -- August 25, 2004 - Andale, Inc. (app.vendio.com),the exclusive provider of eBay market intelligence and auction management services to more than 1.5 million online sellers worldwide, announced that it has named Phil Steffora to Vice President of Technical Operations.

As the Vice President of Technical Operations, Mr. Steffora is responsible for providing the very highest level of service to Andale's customers, by ensuring that their service is fast and reliable. The Andale site receives more than 200 million hits per day with traffic in excess of 200 megabytes per second. In addition, Mr. Steffora is responsible for the company's Information Technology infrastructure including all production, internal and telephony systems.

Prior to joining Andale, Mr. Steffora was Vice President of Technical Operations at Mailblocks, Inc., an Internet mail startup, where he built the company's technical operations from the ground up. He was responsible for choosing hardware and technologies, staffing, and management processes that helped lead to the recent acquisition of Mailblocks by America Online.

Prior to Mailblocks, Mr. Steffora held positions with Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN), where he served first as Vice President of Global Datacenter Operations, and most recently as Vice President of Engineering and Operations. He was primarily responsible for the datacenter infrastructure throughout North America and Europe. During his tenure at MFN, Mr. Steffora built and managed an operational team of over 200 technicians and engineers throughout 18 datacenters in 10 countries. His teams and their performance have been recognized with ISO-9001 certifications for operational excellence.

Previously, Mr. Steffora held senior management positions at AltaVista, where he was responsible for all technical operations of the premiere search engine during its first four years of operations. At the time, AltaVista was the largest search engine on the Internet, having indexed over a quarter-billion web documents and served more than 100 million search queries per day.
