ANDALE STRIKES DEAL WITH INTUIT TO DELIVER AUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO QUICKBOOKS SITE BUILDER USERS

Collaboration to Help Provide New Revenue-Generating Opportunities for Small Businesses

Mountain View, Calif. – May 30, 2000 Andale™, Inc., the company setting the standard in Web-based auction management solutions for eCommerce, today announced that it has signed a technology integration and marketing agreement with Intuit (NASDAQ: INTU) that will help QuickBooks™ Site Builder small business customers sell their products online via Internet auction sites such as eBay, Amazon.com, Yahoo!, and others. This collaboration aims to deliver the industry's first integration of online auction management with small business accounting functionality.

"The promise of the Internet for small businesses lies in the ability to quickly and easily take an existing business and adapt it to leverage new Web-based sales channels while constantly improving customer service," said Dan Nye, vice president and general manager of Intuit's Small Business Division. "Andale has been selected as the preferred partner for helping our QuickBooks Site Builder customers use the web to conduct eCommerce on auction sites. Andale will help extend the capabilities of our QuickBooks Site Builder product, making it faster and easier than ever before to conduct and manage business online."

When available, the integration of QuickBooks Site Builder with Andale's auction management solutions will help make the process of selling products on Internet auction sites and managing core business operations easier and more efficient for Site Builder customers. Using Andale, a small business owner with a QuickBooks Site Builder Web site will be able to list items for sale on a variety of popular online auction sites in just a few simple clicks. The small business will also be able to list multiple items on multiple auction sites while managing them simultaneously and in real time from Andale's remote control console.

"Together, Andale's and Intuit's technologies will help streamline the online sales and back office business management processes," said Munjal Shah, CEO and co-founder of Andale. "When it comes to managing the business of small business, Intuit is the clear leader. This exciting alliance will help to advance small business success in eCommerce. We welcome QuickBooks Site Builder users to the Andale Merchant network."

The Hidden Pot of Gold – Small Business eCommerce
Today, it is small businesses that are capitalizing on the real bounty of online selling, driving the most profitable (40% margins) and fastest growing (192%/year) segment of eCommerce ($3.6 billion per year in sales on eBay alone) (Source: Andale). When compared to the single digit gross margins and slow growth rates of the largest e-retailers, small business eCommerce success may very well represent the majority of commerce conducted over the Internet within the next two years. At the forefront of this trend, Andale is delivering selling tools for small businesses leveraging online marketplaces, managing the entire online sales process, and helping them to move up to three times as many items in half the amount of time and effort. Small businesses pay Andale a 2.95% transaction fee on all successful sales.
